"JENUFA, a metaphoric abyss besieged by the outside world” JANACEK

Focussing on the mental state of the characters, we descend into a magic realistic nightmare confronting us with the beauty and depth of human emotions. Therefore I created a set that reflects the inner turmoil and the breaking down of the women's emotions and faith within a functioning almost anecdotical outside world. The neon light construction evolves from normal everyday use, towards a claustrophobic mental jail cell to end as a metaphorical nightmare whirlwind inside of the Kostelnicka soul.
