LA PRINCESSE JAUNE

PREMIERE JERUSALEM OCTOBER 30, 2023  - CURRENTLY POSTPONED DUE TO WAR-

TICKETS PREMIERE JERUSALEM THEATRE HERE

On a cold winter night in Holland, the young and enamored Lena, secretly watches the tormented Kornelis dabble in alchemy. Thirsty for escapism and under the influence of drugs, he dreams about a distant Japanese Princess while contemplating her portrait. Lena, jealous and furious about his projection of exotic & erotic fantasies, tries to bring him back by proclaiming her love. Will the mysterious Oriental princess with her illusions, drugs, and dragons be victorious or will Kornelis settle for the simple pleasures of a snowy Dutch life with the sweet Lena?

Noemi Schlosser imagined "La Princesse Jaune" for the Jerusalem Opera, as an "Ode to the creative genius of Saint Saens". This production is a confrontation between the magical and mysterious Orient versus the pragmatic Occident.

We will showcase the original operetta, adding Liedern as well as the concerto  "La Muse et le Poete" by the composer, which will enrich the storytelling of this Oriental-inspired clumsy love story.
