Salomee Speelt has two major themes in mind to question the place of the individual in society and how an individual determines the way he leads his life and what happens when he does not make his own choices or blindly follows society.

Of course, the individual never comes out of this unscathed.

Whether we focus on comedies, literary documents, or music, these two essential questions arise. We do not necessarily tell a linear story; usually, we avoid this format entirely.

 

By placing different media together to form a collage we let pictures, actors, music, and installations come together, sometimes creating a whole, sometimes opposing each other, as actors will do in a discussion.

 

Light, music, images, and actors confront each other. The viewer absorbs these various impulses and creates his own story, making his own choices. We do not say how the piece should be perceived. The viewer may completely disagree with what was shown on stage or announced. We want to actively encourage the viewer to form his or her own opinion!
